Cooking Matters is back

Helping to create a sense of normalcy for at-risk kids

For the first time since the COVID-19 shutdown, our Cooking Matters team is once again brightening the lives of at-risk kids in summer camps recently launched across the state.

Enhanced safety procedures have been put in place before, during, and after every class, including mask requirements for all particpating children, sanitization of all surfaces, and ensuring students’ are a safe distance apart. Even so, the program is just as hands-on and interactive…and every bit as much fun!

These safety standards will also be applied to our Cooking Matters for Adults classes so they can still experience hands-on cooking while complying with CDC guidelines. With an increasing number of Americans’ food budgets being stretched thin by the stress of COVID-19, providing cooking and nutrition education is critical, particularly to low-income SNAP-eligible individuals and families.
